want的用法及句型

（1）want 后加名词或代词

如：I want a mobile phone.(我想要一部手机)

I want them.(我想要它们)

（2）want to do sth

如：She wants to visit her grandparents.(她想去拜访她的祖父母)

（3）want sb to do sth想要某人去做某事

如：My mother wants me to drink milk every morning.(我妈妈想让我每天早上喝牛奶)

（4）want sb for sth为某事需要某人

如：We want three boys for the music show.(我们为音乐节需要三个男生

need, want, require后的非谓语动词：

当这三个动词表示“需要”时，其后接不定式和动名词均可，且意思基本相同，只是所用语态不同：接动名词时要用主动式表示被动含义，而接不定式时则要用被动形式表示被动含义。如：

1. The machine wants repairing.

= The machine wants to be repaired.

这机器需要修理。

2. These sentences need explaining.

=These sentences need to be explained.

这些句子需要加以解释。

3. Lentils do not require soaking before cooking.

= Lentils do not require to be soaked before cooking.

want是个规则动词，是想的意思，过去式和过去分词都是wanted,现在分词是wanting;它常见的结构是 want to do sth(想做某事）/want sb to do sth（想某人去做某事），例句解释： I want to swim this afternoon; My mom wants me to learn English.；另外want还有需要的意思后面接动名词，通常主语是物，例句These flowers want watering.

动词want的常见意思是“要，想要，需要”，其后可以跟名词或动词不定式，但一般不跟进行式。

比如：I want an apple.我要一个苹果。

I want to change my doctor.我想换个医生看病。

再比如：She wants plenty of sleep.他需要充足的睡眠。还比如He wants courage，他需要勇气。

want还可以做“缺少，缺乏”讲，属于正式用语。

比如：In poorer countries, many people still want food and shelter. 在许多较贫困国家，仍然有很多人挨饿和无家可归。Two pages are wanting.缺了两页。

He wants in education.他缺乏教养。需要注意的是，want要跟in搭配使用。

want可以跟for搭配。比如： What do you want for your birthday?你想要什么生日礼物？

want后面可以跟动词不定式，表示“想做某事”。

比如：Do you want to smoke？你想抽烟吗？

They don't want to work.他们不想工作。

want的另外一个常见句型是want sb. to do sth。

比如：I don't want anybody to know.我不想让任何人知道。

Do you want me to help? 你要我帮忙吗？He wants you to wait here.他要你在这里等着。

want something to be done句式表示想让某事被完成，要某人到场。

比如：I want the work to be finished until Saturday.我要求在星期六以前做完这项工作。

The second team will not be wanted this afternoon.第二队今天下午不必来了。

这里例子中的动词不定式短语是被动式。

want something 过去分词，这是一种命令式，表示要求某事被完成。

比如：I want the work finished until Saturday.我要求这项工作在星期六以前完成。

He wants the letter typed.他要人把那封信打出来。

want 宾语 动词ing形式，表示不愿意，不喜欢，常用在否定句中。

比如：I don’t want people coming in and out all day.我讨厌整天人进人出的，这个不行。

want表示“需要”时，可以直接跟名词或者动词的ing形式。

比如：The house wants a new coat paint.这房子需要重新油漆。 

This job wants doing at once.这个工作需要马上就做。

My shoes want mending.我的鞋需要补。这里的doing虽然是主动形式，但表达的是被动意义。需要注意，因为它是这个词的考点之一
