also的用法

用作副词，表示“也”，主要用于非肯定句，在句中的位置通常是紧靠动词，即放在行为动词之前，特殊动词之后。

举例：The sofa can also be used as a bed. 这沙发也可以当床。

I play squash and I also play tennis. 我打壁球，也打网球。

有时为了调也放在句末，但不常见。如：

I went and she went also. 我去了，她也去了。

The well-to-do had their cares also. 富裕的人也有他们的烦恼。

有时可用于句首，相当于连词and；这种用法尽管有人反对，但在现代英语中已比较普遍。

举例：Also, he has gone abroad. 而且，他已去了国外。

还有惯用表达not only…but also…意为“不但……而且……”，注意以下用法：

主要用于连接两个对等的成分；若连接两个成分作主语，其后谓语动词与靠近的主语保持一致。

举例：She likes not only music but also sport. 她不但喜欢音乐而且喜欢运动。

The place was not only cold, but also damp. 那个地方不但很冷而且很潮湿。

We go there not only in winter, but also in summer. 我们不仅冬天去那儿，而且夏天也去。

Not only the students but also their teacher is enjoying the film. 不仅学生们在欣赏这部影片，他们的老师也在欣赏这部影片。
