detective是侦探的意思，而officer只是一个警员的意思，区别可以从以下例子看出：

There are so many officer in the police station, but there are only 2 detectives. All officers will assist detective to solve all cases.

警察局里有很多警员，但是只有两个侦探，所有警员都协助侦探侦破所有案件。
