The Story of Zongzi
Zongzi is a traditional Chinese festival food that is celebrated during the eighth day of the fifth lunar month. It is made from glutinous rice, which has been boiled, steamed, and wrapped in bamboo leaves. Zongzi is a symbol of reunion and happiness, as it represents the reunion of family members after the Spring Festival.
According to传说, Zongzi was invented by the Lord Jade in the Qing Dynasty. The Lord Jade saw that people were suffering from starvation during the winter months, so he created Zongzi to bring joy and sustenance to those who ate it. The first Zongzi festival was held in 1856 in Guangzhou, China.
Today, Zongzi remains an important part of Chinese culture and is enjoyed by people all over the world who have ties to China or are interested in Chinese cuisine.

According to folklore, eating zongzi is to commemorate the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan. In the records of Records of the Historian, people can understand that Qu Yuan was a minister of Chu. Qu Yuan was bent on uniting with Qi against Qin. However, Qu Yuan's idea was opposed, and finally Qu Yuan was framed and deposed. During his exile, when Qu Yuan learned that Chu was breached by Qin, he was heartbroken and threw stones into the Miluo River.
